Dr Jason Lam

Guest Teacher

He developed a love of teaching whilst still performing and has taught ballet and contemporary dance to all ages at Sydney Dance Company Open Classes, Tasdance, and private schools around Australia. He has been privileged to learn from some of the best and loves sharing that with people both new to dance and experienced. In addition, he integrates his knowledge of anatomy and physiology to ensure safety and efficient movement with his somewhat dubious musical taste into a fun, accessible class.

He was the inaugural Crichton Dance Medicine Fellow at the Australian Ballet and Orchestra Victoria where he looked after the dancers and musicians. Jason holds a Masters in Sports Medicine, a Diploma of Child Health and is a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practice. In addition to his interest in performing artists, Jason was the team doctor for the Sandringham Zebras VFL team and has also worked with Carlton VFLW, Combat Sports Victoria and was part of the Medical Team at the Gold Coast Commonwealth Games 2018.

He is actively involved in medical education and research and has presented and published widely around dance medicine, hand injury, medical education and chronic pain. He has undertaken further training in Sport and Exercise Medicine with the Australian College of Sport and Exercise Physicians.
